But their statement was quickly called out as being an entirely self-inflicted situation. Edmund McMillan, the creator of&nbsp;<em>The Binding of Isaac<\/em> is <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/edmundmcmillen\/status\/1839062765006442895\">vocally open<\/a> to letting Twitch renew the rights to use the emote and seems enthusiastic about keeping it going.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of writing, the original Twitch post even received a Community Note from X users.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The end of the BibleThump Era (2013-2024) is nigh! On 9\/30, the rights to our beloved emote expire. \ud83d\ude2d While this is sad news, we know that all emotes go to heaven. It is Twitch&#8217;s choice not to do so.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Speculatively, Twitch may be trying to update their branding. A few years back, Twitch changed the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/nichegamer.com\/twitch-removes-pogchamp-emote-after-gootecks-tweet-on-capitol-hill-protests-death-to-avoid-encouraging-further-violence\/\">pogchamp<\/a>&#8221; image from the iconic face of streamer Gootecks to a generic raptor. It may be that&nbsp;<em>The Binding of Isaac<\/em> isn&#8217;t familiar to younger audiences, or that the game is too niche for mainstream Twitch viewers.<\/p>\n<p><em>This is&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nichegamer.com\/tech\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Niche Gamer Tech<\/a>.
