It’s hard to believe how quick 2024 went by now that we’ve finally entered in the new year of 2025. Not to mention, we’re also halfway through this decade.<\/p>\n

The first half of the 20s had some great titles, but was also marred by releases likely stemming from the pandemic affecting work everywhere.<\/p>\n

So let’s see how the second half of this decade will be starting with these upcoming January games:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Freedom Wars Remastered<\/strong><\/p>\n

While a remaster of a game might not be how most would want to start off a new year, Freedom Wars brings about a classic previously only available on the PS Vita to more available hardware with vivid improvements to the originals visual graphics. <\/p>\n

In a world where being alive is a sin, players will find themselves tasked with perilous missions in the hopes of one day getting their freedom as they engage in 3D fast paced RPG combat as they battle for survival against massive and powerful enemies.<\/p>\n

Freedom Wars Remastered frees itself from the PS Vita on January 9th for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC (via Steam<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Blade Chimera<\/strong><\/p>\n

Blade Chimera is the latest metroidvania coming out to kick off the new year. Players take the role of Shin, a demon hunter with no recollection of his past. As he fights against powerful demon foes, he’ll be allied alongside a sword known as Lux, a demon.<\/p>\n

Many staples of metroidvania goodness is here in Blade Chimera as players explore beautiful 2D pixel environments as they battle against foes and traverse dangerous terrain thanks to Lux’s numerous abilities to aid Shin. <\/p>\n

Blade Chimera is slated to launch on January 16th for Nintendo Switch and PC (via Steam<\/a>). <\/p>\n

Dynasty Warriors: Origins<\/strong><\/p>\n

The classic massive battlefield brawler is back with Dynasty Warriors: Origins. Which takes the franchise to new heights as players take the role of a “nameless hero” during the Story of the Three Kingdoms. <\/p>\n

While the hero may not know much, not even his own name. He is still more than able to fight literal hundreds of foes in the style the franchise has made itself known for as he fights and meets many different characters with their own unique motivations and convictions.<\/p>\n

Dynasty Warriors: Origins is set to launch on January 17th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam<\/a>). <\/p>\n

Tales of Graces f Remastered<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tales of Grace f is back with this remaster that brings the classic title to the modern era with new quality-of-life changes, graphical updates, and the DLC from the previous launch. <\/p>\n

Players can still expect the same classic story and gameplay that has made not just the game, but franchise popular for all these decades as they command battles with the Style Shift Linear Motion Battle System that allows them to find victory in battle. Plus, there’s also the after-story once the main storyline is completed.<\/p>\n

Tales of Graces f Remastered launches on January 17th for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam<\/a>). <\/p>\n

Synduality: Echo of Ada<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the year 2222, long after most of humanity has been wiped out, players will take the role of a “drifter” in this PvPvE multiplayer game as they fight for limited resources on a dangerous planet. <\/p>\n

They’ll pilot their “CradleCoffins” and team up with different unique AI companions in their fight for survival where one wrong move could mean losing everything.<\/p>\n

Synduality: Echo of Ada will release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam<\/a>) on January 24th. <\/p>\n

\"Niche<\/p>\n

Eternal Strands<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eternal Strands is the debut title of Yellow Brick Games, a new indie studio founded by many veterans to the gaming industry. In this third person action adventure game, players will take the role of Brynn as she fights for her people’s home. <\/p>\n

She’ll have to battle against powerful and massive titans to do so, but she’ll have access to an array of tools at her arsenal thanks to her arcane skills and the environment surrounding her. <\/p>\n

Eternal Strands releases for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam<\/a> and Epic Games Store<\/a>) on January 28th. <\/p>\n

Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero<\/strong><\/p>\n

In this colorful and bright strategy RPG, players will command numerous “phantoms” as they travel around the ocean world of Ivoire on their ship. They’ll wage war against a fleet of “ghost ships” that threaten the peace of their world. <\/p>\n

As they battle and defeat foes, they’ll be able to “confine” these souls in different objects to recruit them in use and create different ways for players to create their own dream team with tactics unique to them.<\/p>\n

Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero sets sail on January 30th for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC (via Steam<\/a>). <\/p>\n

Sniper Elite: Resistance<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sniper Elite is back with a brand new settings that has players following the French resistance in their war against the Nazi regime with the same satisfying sniper gameplay the franchise is famous for. <\/p>\n

Alongside the usual missions that involve taking down important threats, players will also engage in brand-new “propaganda missions” with new scenarios that involve taking the role of a French Resistance fighters as they sneak their way through time-sensitive missions against the Nazis. <\/p>\n
